PHAST-DEPOSIT

PHAST-Deposit project is a Pioneer proof of concept study that aims at demonstrating the feasibility of plasma torch heating for textile wipes placement performed in additive manufacturing machines for advanced thermoplastic composite aerospace structures. This study will pave the way for a larger adoption of thermoplastic composites whose intrinsic recyclability, manufacturability and increased shock resistance compared to thermoset is driving the interest of aerospace industry.PHAST-Deposit est un projet qui vise à démontrer la faisabilité du chauffage par torche à plasma pour la dépose de préimprégné thermoplastique effectuée dans des machines de fabrication additive pour des structures aérospatiales avancées. Cette étude ouvrira la voie à une adoption plus large des composites thermoplastiques dont la recyclabilité intrinsèque, la fabricabilité et la résistance accrue aux chocs – par rapport aux matériaux thermodurcissables – suscitent l’intérêt de l’industrie aérospatiale.
